It's National Volunteer Week, and I would be remiss if I didn't recognize our Market volunteers, and most importantly the Market Committee. All year, during the market season and the market off-season, the Committee looks at ways to improve our Market. Sometimes those decisions are not to the decision makers' benefit, but they make the hard decisions to serve the greater good of the Market. More specifically, getting the Market up and running under COVID-19 conditions would have been impossible without the collective dedication of this Committee. No, that absolutely is not an exaggeration.
Without gushing too much, I'd like to thank Dawn Bowling, Cindy Mullikin, Ron Waltemyer, Jessica Conjour and especially Craig Hower for their time, energy, and commitment to the La Plata Farmers Market. Your contributions are innumerable and invaluable.
I'd also like to thank
Laura Lyon for her assistance at Market events,
Matt Cox and George Henderson for volunteering to serve on the incoming Market Committee, and
Jeffrey Burch for volunteering to help with Market events.
To all our volunteers: the Market is a better place because of you. Thank you for stepping forward.
