Most years, the Town of La Plata holds a Veterans Day parade, and it's exactly what you would expect of small-town living: school bands, Scouts, civic groups, and, of course, veterans. COVID-19 has wormed its way into everything, it seems, so this year the parade has been cut down to a small car parade leaving Town Hall at 10 am. Spectators are encouraged to park at the Courthouse and County Government Building and wave to parade participants from their vehicles as the parade proceeds up Washington Ave. and down Talbot St. Isn't that handy? The Market will have front-row seats...and shaved ice!
